FZPQ50 PGUM 062145 CCA SRFGUM Surf Zone Forecast for the Mariana Islands...CORRECTED National Weather Service Tiyan GU 745 AM ChST Sat Mar 7 2026 Corrected discussion. .DISCUSSION...Long-period north to northeasterly swell continues to move through the Marianas, producing hazardous surf and dangerous rip currents along north-facing reefs through Monday afternoon. A broad tropical disturbance will move near the Marianas as a shear line becomes draped over the CNMI, leading to an increase in north to northeast swell. This will lead to a high risk of rip currents along east facing reefs through the weekend. A moderate rip current risk continues for west and south facing reefs over the next few days. Depending on the development of southerly swell with this disturbance, surf along south-facing reefs may become more elevated early next week. A moderate risk of lightning is expected through early next week. $$ GUZ001-MPZ001>003-071100- Guam-Rota-Tinian-Saipan- 745 AM ChST Sat Mar 7 2026 ...HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM CHST MONDAY ALONG NORTH FACING REEFS... ...HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON ALONG NORTH AND EAST FACING REEFS... 36 hour Surf Zone Forecast for the Marianas from 600 AM Saturday through 600 PM Sunday .TODAY...
