  Jasper County in central Iowa...

* Until 1130 PM CDT.

* At 1048 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Lambs Grove,
  or 6 miles northwest of Newton, moving east at 40 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
           to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Marshalltown, Newton, Grinnell, Toledo, Tama, Mitchellville,
  Colfax, Baxter, Iowa Speedway, Meskwaki Casino, Rock Creek Lake, Le
  Grand, Melbourne, Sully, Kellogg, Gilman, Collins, Lynnville,
  Rhodes, and Mingo.

This includes Interstate 80 between mile markers 148 and 191.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
