TOTAL RAINFALL: 65 TO 125 MM, WITH POTENTIAL FOR HIGHER AMOUNTS LOCALLY. LOCATIONS: AVALON AND BURIN PENINSULAS. TIME SPAN: CONTINUING THROUGH WEDNESDAY. SIMILAR EVENTS IN THE PAST HAVE LED TO: - LOCALIZED FLOODING, ESPECIALLY IN LOCATIONS WITH POOR DRAINAGE - ELEVATED WATER LEVELS IN CREEKS AND STREAMS, AT TIMES FLOWING OVER THE BANKS - WATER POOLING ON ROADS, AND EROSION OF ROAD SHOULDERS REMARKS: REPEATED PULSES OF RAIN, AT TIMES HEAVY, WILL CONTINUE. WITH THE GROUND ALREADY NEARLY SATURATED FROM EARLIER RAINFALL, THE RISK OF FLOODING IS HEIGHTENED IN SOME AREAS. HEAVY DOWNPOURS CAN CAUSE FLASH FLOODS AND WATER POOLING ON ROADS.
