...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN KERN COUNTY THROUGH
415 PM PDT...

At 331 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 11
miles south of California City, or 29 miles north of Lake Los
Angeles, moving north at 50 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
California City, Edwards AFB, Randsburg, North Edwards, and
Government Peak.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
