KEY MESSAGES: - Showers and thunderstorms will continue this morning. - Cooler than average temperatures rest of the week. WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW: High pressure pushing south from Canada will keep scattered upslope showers over the region this morning. Conditions will begin to clear up through the afternoon with the high moving into the northern Plains. Aloft, a low pressure system rotating through central Canada will push the hot upper ridge westward, and bring cooler air into the region. Below normal temperatures will persist through the end of the week when the Arctic flow is replaces by weak westerly flow. The next disturbance may bring some more rain chances late this weekend.
