At 2 AM MDT a reinforcing cold front could be seen on satellite extending from NW Montana through Grangeville ID southwestward through Steens Mountain to Lakeview OR, supported by a short wave trough from the main upper low in northern WA. The cold front will move eastward through our CWA today bringing further cooling and maintaining gusty west/northwest winds through the day. Monday looks mostly sunny and warmer after tonight's upper trough exits east, and ahead of the next north Pacific cold front forecast to arrive Monday night. That system will bring rain to all areas late Monday night through Tuesday morning, heaviest in northern areas where .25 to .75 inch is expected, including up to an inch of snow above 6000 feet MSL. But .10 to .20 inch of rain should also fall on the Snake Basin. Tuesday's system will exit east later in the day but one last surface cold front and supporting upper trough are forecast for Wednesday, with showers from that system mainly in the north. && .LONG TERM /Wednesday through Sunday/...
