* Special Marine Warning for...

  Central Long Island Sound...

* Until 915 PM EDT.

* At 811 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from 16 nm northwest of Bridgeport to near Stamford
  Harbor to near Island Park, moving east at 35 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 50 knots and small hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Boats could suffer significant structural damage in high
           winds. Small craft could capsize in suddenly higher
           waves.

* Severe thunderstorms will be near...
  Penfield Reef around 830 PM EDT.
  Smithtown Bay and Bridgeport around 835 PM EDT.
  Mouth of the Housatonic River around 840 PM EDT.
  Port Jefferson Harbor and Stratford Shoal around 845 PM EDT.
  New Haven Harbor around 850 PM EDT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
Wind gusts in excess of 50 knots, small hail, high waves, lightning,
and heavy rain are expected with these storms. If caught on the open
water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal
objects.
